John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth."
Read the context: John 1

Ponder:
? Describe some of the nuances of the word "word" used in John 1.
? "What does "became" flesh tell us about The Word, Jesus?
? What does "dwelt among us" make us think about Jesus?
? How do the words "only Son," "full of," glory," "grace," and "truth" set Jesus apart from every other human being who has ever lived?

jne: What was Jesus before He "became" flesh? Some people claim that Jesus was one of the billions of spirit-children of a physical God and Goddess. They claim Jesus worked his way by obedience into the good favor of His Father. This Father was uncertain about how to help his spirit children gain physical bodies to achieve an exalted, eternal life like his own. Two of his favorite sons had opposing ideas about how to accomplish the goal. The one son, Lucifer, proposed forcing all his brothers to obey the Father. Jesus offered to come to earth to show all His brothers and sisters how to obey and please the Father.
What a glaring contrast to the Bible's description of Jesus. Jesus Christ was not only with God in the beginning, He was God. Jesus, as The Word, not only communicates the Good News of God's rescue of mankind; Jesus is the rescue. As The Word of God dwelling among us, living like us, yet without sin, people saw with their own eyes the Glory of God, a Glory that only God The Father would have as He came to live among us. With all the other glorious attributes of God that Jesus displayed, everything He was, did and said, was "
full of Grace and Truth."
There is no other "
Son from the Father." Jesus is the Only One." -324
