The Bible Describes A BLESSED LIFE:

Psalm 1 "Blessed (happy or joyful) is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; - but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. - He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. - The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff that the wind drives away. - Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; - for the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish."

Jesus Christ offers an ABUNDANT LIFE:

John 10:10 Jesus said:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I came that they may
have life and have it abundantly."

True To The Faith?

"Saint" is one of the main words used in the Bible to identify God's people. Many religions use the term, or similar ones, to identify their people. What does it mean and how does a person become one? Most religions have a list of standards or requirements for their "saints." Those lists vary significantly but all have in common that they contain beliefs and behaviors to which their "saints" must be true. Because they have "saints" in their name it is interesting to see what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints requires of their followers. They publish a book titled: "True To The Faith" which lists numerous things their faithful members must do to be true to their faith.
The book makes me think about what I believe about being a "saint," and if I truly am one. I know that the churches with which I am familiar have both written and assumed standards for their followers. Most people are probably sincere in their attempts to follow their faith. But, is sincerity enough, and is there hope when we are not true to our faith?

DEAD or ALIVE?
LOOKING FOR “LIFE”

Many people try to find “life” in the accumulation of stuff, pleasure, prestige, power and such. It isn’t difficult to see that these kinds of self-centered pursuits are not “life” but something usually disappointing and even an enemy of “life.” Could it be that the story the Bible tells about the first humans has something very important to tell us about us as humans and our pursuit of “life?”

9 Questions?

There are nine questions that we all face over and over every day in the process of making our choices about the life we have. Most of the time we answer without even thinking about them. We all answer the questions both consciously and unconsciously. Our behaviors reveal how we answer. Answering these questions without conscious and serious thought is where I believe most of us make a very big mistake.
In answering these questions, we all tend to use our own unique set of standards. Why do some people think living in the city is best and others the country? Why do people consider themselves liberal, conservative, or independent? Why do some people embrace religion and others deny it? Why do we choose the life we are living? Most of us are probably looking for some sort of “healthy, wealthy and wise.” But the reality of life is that each of us have a unique and limited set of options from which to choose the life we will live each day. But, we all do choose, and the life we have is the result of those choices.
